This is the same ven ue as last year – Kinglake Community Centre. Opening night is Friday 6.30 pm for 7 pm start – while hours for Saturday and Sunday are 10 am to 4 p m. Prizes and Awards are increased this year to reflect the growth in the quantity and quality of our exhibits. There is even another artistic cat egory which may appeal to the younger generation. Thanks to our Sponsors – please support them whenever possible as they are supporting us. There is a very talented community of artisans on the Ranges – ranging from art in various media\, such as pastels\, acrylic\, oils and mixed media to p hotography or textiles\, from woodwork to metalwork\, from musicians to w riters – if it’s creative\, there is a fair chance someone will be involv ed in that aspect of art! We welcome the involvement of Kinglike Ranges A rts as well as artisans from Flowerdale\, Toolangi\, Strathewen\, Whittle sea\, Diamond Creek\, Lilydale\, Kilmore and even further afield. The env ironment surrounding our small towns is truly inspirational\, whether it is the colourful birds\, such as King Parrots or Crimson Rosellas\, the m agnificent stands of native trees\, the unobtrusive beauty of endangered species such as the Round Leaf Pomaderris that was nearly extinct prior t o the Black Saturday Bushfires\, the seasonal colour of the pink Common H eath (Victoria’s floral emblem) or the peaceful spirit which can be found in our National Parks\, such as our many walking trails leading to picni c areas\, such as Jehosaphat Gully and the Toolangi Sculpture Trail. How could any artist working in any media not be content here? Yes that Satur day damaged much\, but nature is resilient as are our communities and tog ether we have created a new normal. Our Kinglake Ranges Art Show is part of that new “normal” and we invite all artists and those interested in ou r creations to come and share what we have to offer over the last weekend in November.
